Resident evil 4 remake release date 2020 license#
WHY IS THIS A REALLY EXPECTED TITLE?īeyond bringing back cult horror license – especially in the wake of very good Resident Evil Village – Resident Evil 4 marked the entry of the series into the modern era. A track that will take him to a remote European village, with not really comfortable inhabitants and led by a sect. With his reputation and his experience, Léon must find the daughter of the President of the United States, Ashley – who can be seen in the trailer – recently kidnapped. As a reminder, the events of Resident Evil 4 take place six years after those of the second episode. Just like the moment when he meets his first zombie in a cabin, while he is looking for help. The trailer indeed lets glimpse the moment when the hero, Léon S Kennedy, begins his macabre adventure, very thoughtful, the head against the window of a vehicle. What is certain, however, is that the cult scenes will be there. We can therefore imagine a similar treatment in this case. By comparison, the Resident Evil 2 remake had welcomed additional phases compared to the original work.

Finally, note that for now, we do not know if the adventure will take place in the third or first person, as on RE7 and RE8.Įven if it is acquired that the scenario will be the subject of notable changes, Capcom remains for the moment mysterious with regard to them. The remake of Resident Evil 4 will therefore, of course, exploit the potential of the RE Engine, Capcom’s game engine.

“We want fans of the series to rediscover what made the game so successful, while injecting new and refreshing elements.” As a result, the story will be rewritten “keeping the main plot”, the controls will be adapted to the current standard (we think in particular of being able to shoot while moving) without forgetting “a striking visual rendering of details”.

“We develop (Resident Evil 4, editor’s note) with the aim of offering an exceptional level of quality, up to what can be expected from a survival horror in 2023, while preserving the ‘essence of the original game’ tells us Capcom about the PlayStation Blog. The aim is to strike a good balance between modernity and respect for the basic gamereleased in 2005. As for the remakes of Resident Evil 2 et Resident Evil 3, Capcom will take up the basics of the fourth episode while reinterpreting a lot of things.
